I gave them a better character in my head.
I believed in intentions instead of actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I stopped seeing what was real.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the past, when something felt overwhelming\u2026
I would turn to someone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To talk.
To be heard.
To feel lighter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is different now.
That option is not always there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And for the first time,
I had to sit with what I feel
without trying to escape it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But then one night\u2026 I remember it clearly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was sitting by the window.
It was dark outside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The only sound in the room
was the water from the fish tank running quietly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I looked at my reflection in the glass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And for the first time\u2026
I didn\u2019t look away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I stayed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And I smiled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
